I wanted to download the ISO image file for the standard VL LiveCD so I went to the Downloads page at
http://www.vectorlinux.com/mod.php?mod=userpage&menu=12&page_id=4 . In the "VectorLinux-5.1 and 5.8 -LIVE Editions" part, there are two links:
VectorLinux Standard 5.8 LIVE Editions
VectorLinux SOHO 5.1 LIVE Edition
Because I wanted the LiveCD for Standard (not SOHO), I opened the first link (
http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-5.8/iso-test/). However, as far as I can tell there is no Standard 5.8 LIVE Edition ISO image file at
http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-5.8/iso-test/ (RC1 maybe but I didn't want to try the RC1 when there is a final version available).
I searched this forum and found this thread:
http://www.vectorlinux.com/forum2/index.php?topic=3143.0 . According to the first post the VectorLinux Standard 5.8 LIVE Editions can be found at
http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-5.8/iso-release/ (file name: "VL5.8-std-LIVE.iso"). This is the file I'm downloading right now.
