How do i reduce the font sizes in the menu/status bars of firefox? There was a How-to on this but it seems to have disappeared.

1) open firefox
2) type about:config in the address bar
3) change "layout.css.dpi" to 0 instead of -1

With a small window manager, another way to do this that sets the font size of gtk2 applications across the board is to create a .gtkrc-2.0 file in your home directory.  Mine reads:

gtk-font-name="Bitstream Vera Font 14"

That sets the gtk font size for all gtk applications.
