That looks very promising.  I am pretty exited, looks like the alsa guys will include my maya44 in the supported cards list soon.

lmms is already on the disc. Or at least it'll be in Beta 2 if it's not already in Beta 1. I don't remember.

"It'll be" Future tense.  :D I'm working on it.

Oh, BTW, someone reported that Audacity doesn't have the wxGTK dependency. I looked and it actually does. Could you report specific problems with it and Gslapt? Thanks!

Actually the dep is there, but the package is missing from the repo.

Code: [Select]
root:# slapt-get --install audacity
Reading Package Lists... Done
Excluding audacity, use --ignore-dep to override
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  audacity: Depends: wxGTK >= 2.8.6-i586-1vl59
The following packages have been EXCLUDED:
  audacity
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.

Done

I know I have 2.8.6 in the mbd, though.

This is from the online repo right? Then that's easuter's realm. I'm also going to upgrade from 2.8.6 to 2.8.7. That'll be included in Beta 2 as well and should be in the repo if easuter or exterdad can get to it when I release.

I don't think this is a bug. Start Audacity and go to Edit->Preferences->Audio I/O. Make sure that hw:0 (or something) under Alsa is selected for both record and playback. Mess with those settings and see if it fixes it.

I have already done that and it made no difference. the sound card works fine with xmms movies and other sound events.  so don't know what the trouble can be.

Thanks ,
