Help! - Mouse Ps2 not detected

Hi... sorry my english is not god.
I installed VL 5.8 SOHO in my PC:

Celeron 500Mhz
RAM 265 Mb
MOuse PS/2 (optical)
Wireless (chip atheros)

all ok... but i have a "little" problem: MY MOUSE IS NOT DETECTED... i don't no... i've probe vasm... i've edit xorg.conf and i can probe but nothing work.

In debian (and ubuntu) my xorg.conf say:

Mouse: PS/2 Explorer

Any sugestion?

First doulbe check that the mouse cable is inserted correctly into the back of the PC and that there are no bent pins on the mouse cable connector.

Next check that your Mouse stanza in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file looks something like this:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier  "Mouse0"
Driver      "mouse"
Option      "Protocol" "auto"
Option      "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option      "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
