A new VL-WIKI is up! The Team is looking for some dedicated volunteers to help maintain the new wiki. If you've been wanting to get more involved with VectorLinux, then this may be an opportunity for you to do just that.

Great news! Wikis are great to have updated info provided comunity is active enough. I'll contribute for sure, but not sure about compromising in administration matters. IMO we should move (or copy) the howtos from our forum to the wiki. For ideas about contributions, we could look archlinux and/or gentoo wiki. Possible sections - Howto's -Mandatory
- Beginners guide - we already have great docs, so a link to installation guide and docs should do.
- Tips n' tricks - Thinks that are not real problems but you want to share your l33t way to do it quicker
- Sandbox - to test wiki syntax
Howto section should have subsections (desktop/server oriented....). Arch wiki has the order inverted, so people first look for desktop/server, and inside the "subsection", you can find howtos, scripts to do cool things, tips.... Just my 2 cents

How about an "How to install" section in the wiki? Covering everything from a simple CD ISO install to a more complex Direct ISO install and maybe even a pendrive install. I guess simple things like installing software... Adding repositories to gslapt things like that would make a good start

by looking at the https at the beginning of those links i assume they are available to those who buy a copy of the distro. Althoug it may be a good idea to simply link to those in case they are in fact available to the general public.

They are "Public", as in free for anyone to view. Should anyone "CHOOSE" to purchase a subscription, they would become pre-paid help subscribers. No other cost obligations are attached to there use. I posted the final structure in the lounge today under the "pre-paid help" topic As it is there completly set up with complete instructions on how to post, seems we are duplicating work when we are people resource hungry now.

Good to see! I currently admin a wiki for another software project, also running on Dokuwiki. I'd volunteer to help out, but I'm already pretty overloaded with my current one. Still, I could probably give some pointers on it, if needed.
