Please, sir, I'd like some feh
« on: August 29, 2007, 09:21:33 am »

:) feh is the image viewer that I'm used to using for setting up a fluxbox background image.   I've been trying to compile it, but there have been dependancy problems that have made it a little bit daunting.  Thanks you very much ;D

For some reason I can move it to any board except the "new package requests" one....

Admins, something is not right with the package request board!!

Nevermind..

Well, I'll be  ;D. I suppose I tried moving it when you were still editing your post or something, or I tried moving it twice... I mean I clearly saw that it was in another board with a question from you to have it moved. Oh well....  :)

I seem to be giving YOU a headache! ;)  Yep.  added the request, and removed it just at the minute that you were trying to do it for me.

New here, so bear with me if this isn't in this forum's proper etiquette.
I wanted this package as well, so I went ahead and made it. I'm normally a Redhat guy so I'm new to the packaging format that Slack and/or Vector uses so I'm sure there's things I could have done better here. Anyway I've made the packages available for wget'ing off my site:
http://v2gnu.com/feh.tar.bz2
This contains 2 files (which are also downloadable separately):
http://v2gnu.com/giblib-1.2.4-i586-1vl58.tlz
http://v2gnu.com/feh-1.3.4-i586-1vl58.tlz

giblib needs to be installed first, since feh depends on the libraries that it contains.  Then just install feh and it should work - I did test it via a VM install.
Enjoy!

And to go hand-in-hand with feh, I have unclutter packaged up:
