Dweeberkitty has packaged ManDVD and their decencies for VL 5.8. All the packages are currently in the testing repository:

These are working great for me! I have been testing them on several different VL boxes and even gave them to some friends who were having trouble creating DVDs on Windows. They installed VL and these programs (along with Kino and Cinelerra) and they were creating very nice DVDs in minutes! So impressed were they, that they are going to switch over to VL as a multimedia platform (because it's so fast) and start editing and transferring all their video to dvd. Way cool.

Ummm...I just noticed though, that when you run ManDVD, it shows (in the upper left hand corner) that it's version 2.3. Huh Very strange maybe the author forgot to change that graphic, or maybe I somehow managed to downloaded the wrong source or something. Cry (don't know how I could have done that) I'll have to look into this more.

[EDIT]
The author did forget to update the graphic. This package is fine.
