I’d really like to see evolution as a package for VL. I want to convert my workstation at work to VL ( from xp ) but I must be able to pull my mail from the exchange servers. I think evolution would fit the bill.

Are you using SOHO? , because I read somewhere there is now a plugin for KMail (read their Forum and website), also for Thunderbird (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=3041238&), with trespect to getting mail off a MS Exchange Server. That would be a LOT easier than getting all the Gnome libraries installed on your machine and then compiling Evolution for VectorLinux, IMHO...The other way is to talk to your system admins and get them to enable IMAP/POP on the Exchange Server. Apparently that is an easy task...

I should have stated I am using 5.8 std gold. Can you give me more detail on the imap feature? I know they have web mail enabled and I think that requires imap to be working. So assuming it is, are you saying there is another client that will work here? the web mail feature absolutely stinks so I need a real client.
