Will JFS be included in future versions of VL? More specifically will that be a choice during installation?

As far as I know, JFS is not a planned filesystem option, but who knows...?
I just added this because it may be useful to others working on the installer (which needs jfsutils to gather hard-drive data).

Thanks; I'm not sure it adds anything over reiserFS or XFS but reiser4 still is doubtful (at least the last I read) and eventually reiserFS will be obsolete. Perhaps ext4 will be all that one could hope for but considering that ext3 is not in the same class as reiserFS, JFS, and XFS for performance I'm not holding my breath.

mikecindi, this article at Linux.com will give you a first-hand account of JFS' use:

http://www.linux.com/feature/119025

Although 30 days of use is not a lot, the author did some crash testing during those 30 days and never had any problems recovering (and recovery time looks pretty good too). User comments also seem quite positive in general.

Personally, I have never had a reason to leave ReiserFS and I just love it. Though there are some chilling stories (somewhat dated ones though) of Reiser filesystems that have crashed and burned leaving the user with a corrupted filesystem (and using fsck only worsens the damage).

Thanks easuter; I would like to see JFS added as it does give "choice" to the end user. I also am not really looking for a replacement to reiserFS but eventually another choice will be needed. XFS has some boot limitations (that have been discussed elsewhere in this forum)...
