Hello, perhaps one of you would know the answer to this question...

I usually know how to set text mode in CLI to the right resolution, well I do in Debian which uses Grub - but now I am on Vector using Lilo. ---- I edited my 'lilo.conf' file and changed "vga" to --- "vga=771" which should make my text mode sessions 800x600 - but to no avail Sad

Does vector GNU/Linux have the frame buffer enabled by default?

Did you run command lilo (as root) after editing the file?

Good to hear it is working. If you want to change boot settings, check out vasm
When following the prompts for installing lilo, there is even an option to install grub if you want it.
