Hell, I can't tell any difference.
I noticed a pretty big difference on a laptop with slow hard drive. I was a reiserfs user until I lost a partition, then switched to ext3 for a few months. During that time I kept wondering why my laptop had gone so slow. Then I had another lost partition and switched back to reiserfs and a suddenly fast again lappy.

The distinction is probably pretty marginal in most cases. Even I don't feel the need to use a high-powered Silicon Graphics file system to hold my black metal song collection. I use Reiser right now (free Hans) and it's fine really.
