copying files FROM HOST to CLIENT through VMWARE

hi is it possible to copy a file coming from the HOST OS to the OS installed in VMWARE? i have downloaded grub(using VL 5.1)  for VL 5.8 (installed in vmware) since i dont have internet connection in my vmware. now can i copy / transfer the file downloaded from my HOST(VL 5.1) to its CLIENT(VL 5.8) ?

Since both are linux, I think you can do it via ssh or sfp or something like that
Each install ( the host and the guest) will have an internal IP (whether connected to the net or not) try sshing one from the other and see if you can make that tick
