bash completion is very nice, but for the moment, you can try zsh.  It has autocompletion, a more elaborated vi mode, and many more advanced features.... It's a bit more resource consuming than bash though.

I switched sometime ago, and I'm really happy with zsh.  Just my opinion, of course
