Normally K3b calculates the md5sum and displays it. When we click it we get an additional box which when clicked opens a blank tab in which we can paste the md5sum to compare.
In VL it is not so. Is any additional package is to be installed ?

I haven't used K3b in a very long time, but I think there is a pref in K3b that you can switch md5 checking on and off.

In VL it is not so.

You right click on the md5sum text area and choose "Compare Checksum" and the box pops up.
