Boot to command prompt - how?
« on: October 10, 2007, 05:54:49 pm »

Hi all,

Dirt simple question that I can't answer.............. I swapped monitors and natch the refresh rate is wrong for the new (antique) one, thus a black screen. What do I hold down at boot time to get this guy to show me a plain ol' login console???

thanx!

I believe you can simply press ctrl-alt-backspace to back out of X to the TUI.  You may also have an option in lilo for something like 'linux-tui' or some such name.  This would also boot you to the TUI.

HTH!
