I was going to compile a new Kernel 2.6.23, when I found this
http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/slackware-linux-help/105500-good-bye-bootsplash.html

Doh, VL booting would be not pretty anymore Sad

Anyway ... I went on what the guy suggested.
I tried splashy. Alas, splashy is a bit PITA on Slackware
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/splashy-with-slackware-can-it-be-done-574090/page2.html

So .... a homework for vectelopers I guess ;-)
