Hello I am having trouble getting acceleration to work.I am doing what I did with slackware 12 but no luck with vector 5.8 yet.

Section "Device"
Identifier  "** S3 Savage (generic)                [savage]"
    Driver      "savage"
    Option      "ShadowStatus"
    Option      "BusType" "PCI"
    Option      "DmaMode" "None"
    #VideoRam    8192
    # Insert Clocks lines here if appropriate
EndSection

I have DRI uncommented and glx uncommented as I had in slack as well.Any help welcome :-)

 glxinfo | grep rendering
direct rendering: No

I guess no dri-what am I missing?

Okay,I noticed that xorg 6.9 is in 5.8 -I think that is my problem for this old savage card.I'm gonna dl 5.9b2 and play around.Very nice distro by the way.

Well....Xorg 7.3 and 5.9 beta are a no go for 3d acceleration as well....I'm not sure what to do now,3d works very well in slack 12 on this old crate with the same procedures I used in Vector.
