Failure to boot into Xwindow KDE
« on: November 02, 2007, 01:16:44 pm »

Running VL5.8 SOHO. When try to boot into KDE window as I first boot up, get two error messages and then back to the Command Line Prompt. The error messages are:

!) xmodmap: unable to open display ' '.
2) Xhost : unable to open display " ".

Any thoughts?

I got that same error recently in one of the VL5.9-BETA versions when the settings in /etc/X11/xorg.conf were wrong. Not for KDE so, for xfce4.

May be do another hardware check with vasm to correct the settings in xorg.conf
