Three days in to using VL! (Goodbye and good riddance to XP bloatware!)

I have used Unbuntu in the past and Thunderbird was part of the standard packages. VL being a 'skinny' distro doesn't have this. Can I download and install this manually? What is the best way to do it? Replies in a newbie friendly format would be wonderful........XP I know (and loathe) Linux still VERY green!

Thunderbird is in our testing repo. Be sure to enable it with gslapt.

You may want to look at the e-mail client in SeaMonkey before you decide to install Thunderbird. I've used Opera's e-mail client for years in both Linux and Windows.
