Simple question here. Does xfburn work 'out of the box' for VL 5.8 standard?

How does it stack compared to k3b? I ask as if xfce will continue being the default on standard...why not put this in instead of kdelibs and k3b if this'll work just as well?

I don't think xfburn comes anywhere close to K3B.

I agree, Moe. My favorite app for burning cd's is open source, but has no linux version: cdrtfe. Can you believe it?

Unfortunately, yes. I have a couple of favourite open source apps that have no Linux port. About k3b, I simply love it. Works better than windows nero for me.

I think you will agree, I want to see a k-meleon port for linux. It is the lightest fully capable browser around. The interface is a little hard, but the project is still young.

That's a good example. Others are virtualdub, 7zip (gui) and a some others I could name if I had a few minutes to think about it... EDIT: well, one just hit me in the face with a popup message: Free Download Manager, it went open source recently.

Some opensource projects I'd love to see ported: - Modplug (works in wine, but no support for Jack) - Winamp's Advanced Visualization Studio (works in wine, but not fullscreen) Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever have the skills to do either of them

THanks Headeacher, I didn't know about Modplug. I like Media Player Classic, very lightweight and simple media player.

LOL those are good ones too, actually cdrtfe is a short for cd-r tools front end, and uses windows versions of mkisofs and cdrecord. PS: Good to see you again
