I can help with the mouse. Open with your text edito as root the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Find the line like this one:

Quote
    Option         "Device" "/dev/mouse"

Replace "/dev/mouse" with "/dev/ttyS0". Restart the xserver and done. That should do it.

About the sound, please post the output of lspci and lsmod here. That will give us the exact model of your snd and the module or 'driver' it is using.

Mxnrl,

If you feel more comfortable posting in your native language, feel free to do so. Just let us know what that language is, so that we can be sure that we have somebody who can respond to you in your mother tongue. ;-)

Cheers,

Вітаймо до Вектор Линукс!

I actually speak a little bit of Ukrainian (I speak better than I write, unfortunately :-( ), so that's my attempt to welcome you to the forum, Mxnrl! :) For the benefit of those who don't read Russian, you said that Vector is your first time using Linux. We do have several forum members who speak Russian, if only Vanger is still around. ;-)

Wow, only a few distros will run X-windows on that one. If you are not already using fluxbox or JWM as the window manager, switching to one of those should give you a significant speed boost over XFCE.

We don't wich version of vl you are using  ::). If you have 5.8, you can install fluxbox with slapt-get --install fluxbox. Fluxbox is already there in 5.9, just click in the session button at the login screen to change your wm.
