Multimedia Bonus Disc Beta 1 Released
« on: December 09, 2007, 07:46:12 pm »
Multimedia Bonus Disc (MMBD) Beta 1 is released!

Bug reports and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please report bugs here:
http://www.vectorlinux.com/forum2/index.php?topic=4040.msg32356#new

Download the ISO here:
http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/Uelsk8s/iso-test/MultimediaBonusDisc-Beta1.iso

Delta from Alpha 3.1 is here:
http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/Uelsk8s/iso-test/MMBD-A3toB1.delta

WHAT'S NEW:
* Fixed installer - Now gives choice between "Install Everything" and "Expert Install" (Expert Install opens Gslapt automatically directed to the MMBD)

* Fixed all the Ladspa plugins to include the ladspa dependency

* Fixed jamin to include the swh-plugins dependency

Please test this and report bugs as they would help so much in getting this out the door. I would like to have a Final before Christmas, but I'll need everyone's help with testing to accomplish that. Thanks a lot!

This Bonus disk, is it a complete OS or just an add on? I am sorry but what does this mean?

No it is not a complete OS. It is just an add on. That's why it's called a Bonus Disc. The Delta is so that you can "upgrade" from the previous disc. Say that you downloaded Alpha 3.1 but I only made a few changes in Beta 1. Instead of downloading the whole Beta 1 to get the changes, the delta allows you to just download the changes and apply them to the ISO that you already downloaded. Make sense?
