Is there an application or environment for linux that allows desktop icons to be individually sized..generally you can increase the size of ALL to standard sizes like 16, 32, 64, 96 but can NOT set one at 64 two at 16 and another at 96. as desktop icons are popular it is curious they have little graphical functionality..or do they and I have not discovered it after all this time..any thoughts

Ok individual icon size was a curiosity but this is more real desire ..horizontal icon placement rather than vertical placement.

Is it possible to change the default placement from top left vertical to horizontal?
