I'm about to look at 5.9 Gold.  What do Vector users use to backup the system?  I'm used to creating a bootable disk with mklivecd and I've also used mondoarchive.  Neither is listed in the packages list, so what do people use?

we have vmklive in the vl-live-tools package.
You can use that to make yourself a live backup of your system.

Thank you.  Does the live backup include an installer?

Judging by the name, it's based on 'mklivecd', in which case it would include an installer.

uelsk8s, I'm still learning.

where does one find this  vl-llive-tools pkg?  vmklive sounds like a winner.

Hi reb. A .tlz is a Vector Linux package. You can install it with a right click on it, install package, or from the command line as root with installpkg <name_of_the_pkg>.tlz
That will expand the pkg and copy all the needed files in to the proper locations.
