When I said overhead, I meant from having another program running (Wine does need to run, right? It doesn't just sit there, right?) rather than the fact that anything was being emulated.
It just provide an API, do some benchmarking with a program running in Windows and in Wine and the difference is minimal, in my experience of course, but the wine guys tell that too. Again, I am not a gamer, but in general games or other programs work or not work, but working slow when matching the hw requeriments for windows, that
shouldn't happen. I say shouldn't because this is all experimental stuff, and there is no much experience. I don't want to make an inductive conclusion from a few cases

Also, you're funny, I like you and you actually got that last one right

And no, much as I love both Quake 4 and UT3, neither of them are Crysis, or anywhere near it.
I hope you are saying funny in a good way. I like you too, and the fact you like Vista means nothing to me in that sense (i.e, I never dislike someone just because of being a Windows user). May look like I disagree systematically with windows users. But I don't. I just like to discuss and learn stuff from other users in the way, including windows users.
About Crisys, I can understand, loyalty is a good and admirable thing, I like that in my friends and in my enemies as well (I really don't have any enemies, but the phrase sounds cool).
