Putting standard cd on bootable DVD

Is it possible to put the vector linux standard cd on to a dvd that can boot?

I might not be really understanding what you want. First of VL Standard ISO is a bootable disk and you don't need a DVD disk because it is not really big enough to fill a DVD and that would be a waste of space.

But maybe what you are asking for is to run VL Standard from a Live CD? Is that what you want? If so download and burn this ISO file to a CD - it is our new VL5.9 Live and its great!

EDIT: re-read your post. Do you mean can the VL CD boot from a standard DVD drive? If so, yes.

I believe the question is: Can the .iso that is designed for a CD be burned to DVD media and still be readable/bootable? The answer is "yes" (http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=108959) but as lagagnon stated it's great waste of space.
