I'm using Vectorlinux-5.8-SOHO-FINAL release on a Dell Optiplex 260 with 1 GB of RAM.
I have two CD/DVD drives, A SONY CD-RW CRX-320E (reads DVDs, burns CDs/CDRWs) and a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-110D (reads and burns DVDs).
Whenever I try to copy a CD, original in the SONY, blank CD in the Pioneer, K3B freezes. The track names appear in the appropriate places once I insert the original, then click the little pop-up window that says "Imprecise listing, please select album name" (which I do). I pull the tracks down into K3B's lower window, all the track information is nicely filled in. Sweet. Then when I click "Project>Burn", I get the normal burning window. I click "Burn" and - nothing happens. K3b flashes the message "Determining writing speed", and that's as far as it goes. I let it sit for as long as 3 minutes, and K3B goes no further. You can't shut K3B down either, you have to wait until the "terminate" window pops up and then shut it down by brute force.
I've been told that Vector Linux doesn't like multiple CD/DVD drives.
Is there any way to fix this?
