Git behind the wall

Hi,
I install VL 5.9 final and works fine on my tosh (except internal SDcard reader and modem which never work since first VL install (VL SOHO 5.0)). Today I try to install compiz 0.5.2 and eventually stuck on fusion-icon which cannot be installed because of this :

$ git-clone git://anongit.compiz-fusion.org/users/crdlb/fusion-icon
Initialized empty Git repository in /home/gondes/fusion-icon/.git/
fatal: Unable to look up anongit.compiz-fusion.org (port 9418) (Temporary failure in name resolution)
fetch-pack from 'git://anongit.compiz-fusion.org/users/crdlb/fusion-icon' failed.

Seems that the cause is proxy setting (again, as I posted on other thread, thanks to Hanumizzle & M0E). Git depends on curl which I'm sure curl works fine since Google-earth uses curl and works well. Any suggestions ?

Networking isn't my specialty, sorry 
But if git is giving you a bad time, why not try gitweb so you can get the icon-tray sources? http://gitweb.compiz-fusion.org/?p=users/crdlb/fusion-icon;a=snapshot;h=HEAD;sf=tgz Good luck

Aaaahhh...
I'm so stupid, why didn't I click "snapshot" but "tree"? 
But I'm still curious cannot get git behind the wall.
