gslapt no update

Hi,I have another question..
Gslapt when trying to update archive connects regularry, I see the progress bar working but it shows "download rate 0 b/s" . The result is that I have not any other package to install :-(
I tried with different sources but I get the same or worse connection error

Here are sources I'm using:
SOURCE=http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-5.9/packages/
SOURCE=http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-5.9/extra/

Here's a bump.  I have the same problem.  No matter what sources I choose, it seems like it take forever to update the package list (10-15 minutes to update 3 sources).  And then when its done and I run slapt-get --upgrade, and it can't resolve the host.  It is a mystery.

@emamarro and mithion: Open a terminal and enter the following commands:

slapt-get --update

Post the output that you get from running slapt-get --update here. Don't worry too much at this point about how long the updates take. Rather, I'm more concerned about whether things are working as they are supposed to work. If slapt-get --update works correctly for you, you'll see output something like this:

The ibiblio.org sites are not the primary mirror for VL. I would suggest using the osuosl.org sites, as they are the main repository.

With that said, if you still want to use the ibiblio sites, try changing the URL in /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc as root from distro.ibiblio.org to ftp.ibiblio.org.

Ok, I added an open dns server.  It works perfectly now.  It connects with all the sources and does so in a blink of an eye compared to the 10-15 minutes it took before.  Thank you for the help.  My updates are now back up and running.

One more thing:  you should enable the patches repository in addition to packages and extra.  Without patches you won't get many upgrades.

I just have one final question on the subject.  I just noticed that when I rebooted my computer, the resolv.conf file got overwritten and the open dns server I had added disappeared.  How do I set it up so the file is saved as is and not overwritten each time I reboot.
