Is there a Linux version of Nero? What i really need to do is make a dvd slide show of some pics i have.

It's not free or open-source, so you're on your own in obtaining it.  I don't know if it has all of the functionality as the windows version so I can't say on the slideshow functionality.

VectorLinux 5.9 comes with k3b (considered to be AT LEAST as good as nero), but again I'm not sure on it's slideshow functionality.

I have tried Nero for Linux. It is very good. I only tried on Debian Distro though.

I have not found an option to make slideshows in k3b. qdvdauthor can make slideshows, but I have never tried it.
