Just a heads up to anyone who's interested.  My girlfriend got a Sony NWZ-616F Mp3 player for Christmas.  I was thinking I would have to install Windows on a machine just to copy mp3s to the player, but vl-hot mounted it the way it would a pen drive, and I was able to copy the music files over to it in Thunar.  It plays fine.

Props again to all the VL people.
