I got this new notebook, with Windows Vista preinstalled.
My 11 years son, who has been using Linux for about 1 year,
wants to have a try too.
Both of us have never tried Vista before.
So he logged in ...

"Hey ... this is like Linux", watching the "Toshiba" glassy blue background.
"This is like Linux too", pointing the framed desktop icons.
"Wow, it does like Linux now", after launching a windows and it pop up with 3D style.
"It is transparent, like Linux", noticing the windows title

... there ware some more "Like Linux" comments.

Some how, I was as happy as when he, as a baby, talked for the first time  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

That's a good story.  Smiley

I was proud for you. My three kids (all under 5) prefer my Linux computer over the wifes Windows XP. I'm sure because of Compiz and all the other eye candy that I run on occasion. I don't have the resources to run while being productive, but I do sometimes for the fun of it.  The kids REALLY dig it. Of course they can't understand why Momma can't have the bouncing cow screensaver, or many of the Tux games on her computer.  Or why I give them a username and give them free reign to do anything they want on Linux, and watch them like a hawk when they are using the XP computer.  Not being able to read can be deadly on Windows.  Cheesy

It was nice hearing someone comparing a OS to Linux for a change.  Instead of the other way around.

LOL Kocil, you are a great father Cheesy
My 10 month daughter saw a Windows machine just once, I think is a good average.

B-B-B-But Windows is the Industry Standard!  Linux is a communist cancer!  You guys are raising your kids to be traitors to Truth, Justice, and the Capitalist Way!

And besides, there's nothing wrong with Windows Vista.  It's a Great Operating Systemâ„¢, Bill Gates told me so.

</stupidity>

Great going ... I don't have any kids, but if I did they wouldn't be seeing any Windows OS at our house either.

Nah, not so much communist, more like a Northern European social democratic cancer.
