I did it. The kde folder from the cd downloaded into my /usr folder.  Now I have to ask the 64 dollar question.  How do I replace xface  with kde. Huh

logout and then from the login manager click the session button and choose kde

People here are nice like than :-)

The way I did it was to mount the disk using the little widget in Xfce and then open a terminal, su to root and then navigate to each of the folders and run installpkg *.tlz and everything was installed :-)

Isn't it great, I want a paired down version - lean and mean, and then I go and install everything in sight!
