Woohooo!!!  Cheesy

I must say this is somewhat unexpected since Trolltech said it had no plans to move to GPLv3 when the license was released last year.

To add to Joe's initial post, here are the links from Trolltech's web site announcing this change:

http://trolltech.com/company/newsroom/announcements/press.2008-01-18.1601592972

http://trolltech.com/company/newsroom/announcements/press.2008-01-18.5377846280/pressrelease_view

The second link includes links to download the Qt3 source being released under GPL v.3.

EDIT: The one caveat is that we cannot build GPL v.2-only source code (like the Qt-based kernel configuration GUI) against the GPL v.3 version of Qt, especially for repository packages. We need to be very careful in this regard.

Cheers,
John

What about the 3rd edition of the GPL? I remember hearing some fairly negative things about it.

That's why I checked before making a final judgment. Smiley
