Working on Gtk-Perl-0.7009 module and another dep module.  Getting close.  Compiling and installing is one thing, but packaging without hardcoding DESTDIR paths or overwriting .pod files is another Smiley

Thanks...I assume mencoder is part of the player and installed already..so will try CLI extracting

there was also mention of dvd::rip..the dependants are for sort so this looks better prospect

why are the others in the repository..is someone working on them? or am I just to lame to sort out how they work and its to stupid question for response. just curious

I have a lot of movies and just want to add a few to VL for others to watch at the click of a button as this machine is in the spare room.

Ummm... The problem with Acidrip is my fault. I had packaged that for the Multimedia Bonus Disc but I did something wrong. I have it fixed in RC2 and it works now. I'll let you know when the fixed package gets to the repo.

Okay the perl modules are packaged.

gtk-perl WAS a freakn' bugger.  The solution was simple, but the discovery was not.  So you didn't do anything wrong  Wink

You'll need to install:
Quote
gtk-perl-0.7009-i586-1vl59.tlz
perl-XML-Parser-2.34-i586-1vl59
perl-XML-Writer-0.603-i586-1vl59

I was working on XML-Parser for a while, then I discovered I packaged that a loooooong time ago  Cheesy Just make sure testing is enabled and update your sources and you should find them.
I hope like heck that helps you.

Oh yeah... the announcement. http://www.vectorlinux.com/forum2/index.php?topic=5445.msg37338#msg37338

well that was fun I guess. thanks for the code

I had to swap oac copy for oac pcm
and added some to improve quality
although better it is still to poor for company.or a movie

I used this:
mencode dvd://23 -chapter 1-5 -o Hillbilly.avi -oac pcm -ovc lavc
-lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4: vbitrate=1000: vhq: vqmin=2: vlelim=-4: vcelim=9:
lumi_mask=0.05: dark_mask=0.01: vpass=1 -vf crop=716: 572: 2: 2, scale=640: 480

this took 32 mins for one episode of the hillbillies
quality at 800x600 full screen was similar I guess
to watching a b&w tv with poor reception, lol

will update and add xml thanks
