Can someone please link me to a howto install icewm on VL?

I downloaded the .tgz for Slackware, and
Code: [Select]
tar -zxvf ice*and it ran through a few lines of stuff, with no errors. When I restarted I tried to select it through the login screen and it was not listed.

Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?

Thanks for any help.

Use the gslapt package manager. It will install IceWM and whatever dependencies it needs. You will also find sounds and themes if you want them.

did you downloaded the binary package or the source one? Probably, tgz package is a binart one.
If hat's the case, open a terminal, change to root, cd to the directory where you have the tgz file and type

installpkg icewmblablabla.tgz   if it has no dependencies, you'll have the option in your next login.
