Kernel-2.6.23.1

I have reported in VL59* bugs/annoyances that I could not print with kernel-2.6.23.1 neither in VL5.9 nor in VL5.8.

Now I installed another slack clone distro with the same kernel # and a -smp suffix and it printed on first try.

Just thought to let you know. It therefore seems that it is not my setup which would be the problem.

Correct, however, that was with kernel-2.6.21/22.* not with kernel-2.6.23.1. With that kernel I only found that I cannot print when I tried it in VL5.8. Before that I did not try printing with it in VL5.9 assuming it will work like with the other kernels before which when I then tried it showed it was a wrong assumption.
