I'm building a desktop and I want to buy a graphic card compatible with Linux.
I don't mind if it's ati or nvidia... I just want a card that works without or with little configuration. I'm not a gamer so I don't need a powerful card.

I want to be able to run compiz.

Can you recommend me any card you have and had no problems configuring it?

thanks

If Compiz is the only 3D accel you need, a cheap nvidia card will be enough. I know ati is getting closer to the FOSS community, but I think the results are not visible yet. Compiz has some known issues with ati cards.
Since performance is not a problem, any nvidia card available will suite your needs.
