hi there!

1st of all: gr8 distro!

maybe someone here is willingly to build a VL derivate - for u hardcore linux-coders/-enthusiasts this should be a damn easy thing to code/develop...

here my idea: vmpVL or vbVL should have the following:
a) vmpVL:
- just the desktop
- no apps (remove everything!) - no apps but vmwareplayer
- 2 users:
-- user "root": is able to configure the system:
 --- IP
 --- vga settings
 --- countrycode stuff
--- choose the VM for the user: "user"

-- user "user:" can do simply NOTHING
--- VM gets started in fullscreen automatically once this user has logged on to vmpVL (chosen by user "root" as mentioned above)
--- user "user" may not be able to interact with the hostOS (=> vmpVL)

b) vbVL:
same as in a) but with the application virtualbox

so what do u think?

i think VL has good HW-detection is already lightweight (light-edition) - is here someone willingly to make it real?

thx in advance!

If you ask me, I hate the tendency to build a new distro for every task. Rather have one core distro, and some packages/scripts/whatever that modify it.
So my suggestion is a script that will remove all unnecessary programs from vector until you have the system you desire.
