Issues with pidgin
« on: February 29, 2008, 12:50:54 pm »
upon using pidgin, I get this message in the terminal (when launched from terminal)

Quote
(pidgin:3770): GStreamer-CRITICAL **:
Trying to dispose element play, but it is not in the NULL state.
You need to explicitly set elements to the NULL state before
dropping the final reference, to allow them to clean up.

(pidgin:3770): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_element_set_state: assertion `GST_IS_ELEMENT (element)' failed

(pidgin:3770): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_object_unref: assertion `((GObject *) object)->ref_count > 0' failed

(pidgin:3770): GStreamer-CRITICAL **:
Trying to dispose element play, but it is not in the NULL state.
You need to explicitly set elements to the NULL state before
dropping the final reference, to allow them to clean up.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, is it fixable?
I'm also using firefox and xmms if that makes a difference...
Another reason to love linux:
You can call it "Linux" and not "GNU/Linux" and there isn't a damn thing Richard Stallman can do about it.

Does it cause problems?

Sometimes programs spit out weird messages that look scary but don't mean a lot
"Leatherface, you BITCH! Ho Chi Minh, hah hah hah!"
