Access denied problem
« on: March 05, 2008, 08:51:57 am »

I have an IDE harddisk. I installed vector linux. No problems....

Later, I connected a SATA drive with 5 partitions..
After connecting, when I try to enter any partition in the new SATA drive, Vector Linux says that "could not enter folder ....."
And the icon in mnt/..... folder has a lock in it. So I realized that it may be a problem with permissions.
I login as root. Then I can view and access the contents. I changed the permissions from there by right clicking inside the drive and selected the permissions tab and changed all three options to "view and modify".

After, I login as me, no change, the folder is locked.
Why this is happening. Is there anything else I have to do to change the permissions?

Did you check the permissions of /mnt itself?
