VL does not automount CD units. You have to do it manually.  I do it through the console (oh duh')

mount /mnt/cdrom

I suppose xfce provides a mousy way to do it, but I'm a console guy Wink

If it's Light Beta 2, you should have a CDROM icon on the JWM desktop that should do it.

when i use console, and type mount /mnt/cdrom
I get a message

like this: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom,
missing codepageor other error
in some cases usefull info is found in syslog - try dmesg|tai or so

depending on your optical drive, the directory name changes.

ls /mnt

to see what devices you have there

you can try mount /mnt/cdrecorder  and mount /mnt/dvd

Make sure you're not trying to mount an audio cd, these probably won't mount. to play an audio cd, I suppose you'd have to use a program that comes with VL light. I have not tried it myself, so I can't tell you which gui tools are available. cdda-play is a commandline cdplayer.

Most music on my soundcloud page was arranged in programs running on VL.
