I'm an ubuntu emigrant. Tried Mint, Mandriva, Fedora, SuSE, you name it. All the big ones over the last 5 years.
Well you guys at VL. Have I ever seen such a gorgeous distro, with SPEEEED. woosh. My 4yr old PC has been reborn.
This VL is brilliant (or "beeze-knees" at we call it in London)
Ok, question
When I installed, X did not work. The "via" driver had been selected. My chip is an integrated VGA, from lspci command:
VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. K8M890 [Chrome9] Integrated Video (rev 11)
I had to put the driver back to "vesa" for this to work.
On ubuntu I got this working using the openchrome drivers from an ubuntu site (the synaptic version didnt work). Had to compile myself. Is there something on VL that will work with this chip?
thanks, and where have you been all my life :-)
