help compiling custom 2.6.24
« on: February 06, 2008, 07:46:19 pm »
I'm running VL5.9 and I would like to compile 2.6.24 to try a wireless driver rt2x00
that will only build on development versions of the latest kernel source.

I only compiled 2.4 series kernels and was wondering if there was info on the
/patches directory that is in /usr/src/linux.

Should I apply them and see what happens?  Has anyone else compiled this kernel?

I tried once to compile and use this kernel without applying the patches : it works but of course some VL options are not working (bootsplash, hibernate script etc.).

I did not try to apply the patches as I suppose they are meant to be applied only on 2.6.22 kernel series...

If someone knows, please tell. If you try, please test and tell if it works !
