Jscalibrator or jscal for flightsim enthusiasts

Greetings!  I am a Vectorlinux user as well as an Absolute Linux user,etc.  I like Slackware forks and I like Flightgear 1.0.0.  However Slackware has no joystick calibration utility, and so I am posting on several forums for someone to compile a utility which will become a Slackware first.  It will also say something about the importance of newbie requests, but that is another matter.  I have tried to compile it before, and I have only gotten errors.  Care to help SuperGamer users and me with a useful utility?  Sourcecode is available at http://www.battlefieldlinux.com/wolfpack/libjsw/

It compiles just fine for me here.
What problems did you get, and what version of VL are you running?

I built a package for 5.9 and uploaded it to testing
update gslapt/slapt-get and get it there
