New laptop gets delivered tomorrow. First action is gonna be trashing vista and get the vl 64 on it. Count me in for packaging.

Check with the developers and make sure they are still going ahead with VL64 5.9. I expect the project is or will be abandoned in favor of VL64 6.0.

will do but for now i'm in a good fight with the brand new laptop to install. The kernel doesn't support most of my hardware, can't even use the ethernetport

This was a no go. I got a new kernel supporting more hardware including the NIC. I fixed the sound using the latest alsa rc drivers, yet this was full of bugs and weirdness.
ATI drivers not installable, not even from their website. Kde would not compile, the older gcc caused troubles with linking pciutils. Wireless was not found.

list hardware please? Be as detailed on the list as possible, this way it is noted for the 6.0 build.
P.S.
As far as I know packaging has not been abandoned for the 5.9 build of the 64bit.

All that VL64 requires to "Take Off" is some more volunteers with 64bit hardware to grab source and buildscripts from the 32bit repo and compile them on their 64bit system. If this project is still alive, I will compile some programs. You can certainly run 32-bit Vector on a 64-bit computer. I have VL6 Deluxe installed on two 64-bit computers. Of course, I'm sure those working on VL6-64 will be delighted to have another beta tester.  --GrannyGeek |

I haven't had any problems. VL6 is running great on all my computers, including the aging Celeron. If I do any beta testing for 64-bit VL, it'll be on my Athlon 64 X2. Nice to have you back! --GrannyGeek |

Hello all. Do we have a place to retrieve a 6.0 64-bit ISO? The above URL does not work for me. I have a decent machine here and would love to test VL:
