Saving my install to usb drive
« on: April 02, 2008, 05:25:06 pm »

I have my install of VL5.9 set up exactly the way I want it. My question: Is there any way for me to save the install to external media eg. flash drive, cd, dvd?

Yes.
Download and install this package: http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/Uelsk8s/vl-live-tools-1.0.6-i586-2vl59.tlz
It will add some menu items 1 for vmklive 1 for vliveinstall and one for the usb installer.

Will this allow me to save settings also? I just went through a battle getting my printer to work and want to make sure I have it saved externally. Thanks, Keith

this will make an exact copy of your installed system into a live system.
the only difference will be a few of the startup scripts.
