I have an Acer 1916W and a nividia card.   Ubuntu detects and sets the resolution to 1440 x 900.

is there anyway that I can set Vector Linux 5.9 SOHO live to this resolution.   Should I simply follow
the advice contained in "How to change my resolution to 1024 x 768"

I have been a long time follower of Vector Linux.  This new edition is awesome.  If only I could get
it to detect my monitor.

if you are using the SOHO preview cd you can simply type "vector res=1440x900" at the boot prompt.
Otherwise you will have to edit the Xorg.conf file and put the resolution in by hand.
