No wireless cards found(solved)

Hi all Ive recently installed Vector to my desktop and liked it so much I decided to install it to my laptop. The only problem is I cant get the wireless to work. Heres what Ive got
Acer Aspire 5050-3371
Amd Turion642.0 Ghz
Ati Radeon Express 1100
1GB DDR2
Atheros 5007eg wireless card
I used VLwifi to install a windows driver with ndiswrapper then got the error message "no wireless cards found". Ive searched the forums and followed many directions.

And several other threads I cant seem to find again that suggested I would need to rename everything from wlan0 to ath0.I followed the above tutorial with no luck then went into modprobe.conf interface,conf and ifplugd.conf and renamed wlan0 to ath0 with no effect. I hope someone can help because I really like Vector and would want to keep it on my laptop.

What Vector Version?

The Type of authentication used, WEP, WPA .. etc.

Did you try the driver from ndiswrapper site?

Vector 5.9 and I didnt download the driver from the ndiswrapper site the link there is dead. But I used the same driver they were linked to. I downloaded it earlier and it has worked with an other distro so the driver should be ok.

I use the madwifi drivers with my atheros wireless cards.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately the only driver they have currently for my card is not compatible with 64 bit processors. So Ill just mark this solved and wait until I get another laptop or the next release, which ever comes first. Ill just have to enjoy Vector on my desktop in the meantime.
