Bootloder not installed
« on: May 05, 2008, 02:13:17 am »

Hi, I have tried to install VL5.9 on a spare ide drive. I partitioned it using Gparted and managed to run the installation by adding "noapic" to syslinux.cfg. (I installed from a flash drive) after it failed the first time.

Unfortunately VL refused to install lilo, so I've ended up with no bootloader. I'd like to load Grub (or lilo.) The only working OS I have on the system at the moment is XP, running on a different (SATA) drive, and of course it won't read my Linux drive.

Supergrubdisk doesn't seem to be able to create a bootloader and MBR. Any ideas?
